Blueberry
Pond PREMIERES EDEN'S END
Blueberry Pond Theatre Ensemble will premiere its inaugural mainstage
production in its new Ossining home, EDEN'S END by group President
Jean-Paul DeVellard, in its Cedar Lane Park theatre beginning April
29.
EDEN'S END is the story of a beautiful Southern woman, in free
fall after the death of her wealthy older husband, who finds
salvation through a life-changing encounter with a devilishly good-looking
and equally dark-spirited stranger. The play contains nudity and
mature content; no one under 17 will be admitted unless accompanied
by an adult.
Mr. DeVellard, a resident of Croton-on-Hudson, is a writer, editor,
painter, and published poet whose play PINK POODLE DOG was a
Critics' Choice winner in the 2004 Samuel French Original Short
Play Festival in Manhattan. He
founded Blueberry Pond Ensemble in 2001 with his partner, Stephan
Summa, to develop cutting-edge, provocative works in an ensemble
process involving actors, directors, and writers.
The play stars Blueberry Pond's Artistic Advisor Cynthia Granville
as trophy wife Constance. Ms. Granville's theatre credits include
ORPHEUS DESCENDING in Manhattan; film credits include the recent
remake of ALFIE with Jude Law. Francis Callahan plays the mysterious
Mikal. The husband of Ms. Granville, he has been seen in New York
City as Jim Tyrone in MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN and in ONE FLEW
OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST directed by Anna Strasberg. Ian Campbell
Dunn, as Nick, was most recently seen onstage in LANDSCAPE OF
THE BODY and starring in the short film MADNESS OF MY LIFE. Directing
is Jesse Ontiveros, whose credits include AS YOU LIKE IT for the
Alibi Group, where he serves as Artistic Director, and LOVE LETTERS
for StageEast Ensemble, starring Ms. Granville. EDEN'S END will
be presented at 235 Cedar Lane, Cedar Lane Park, Ossining,
from April 29 through June 19, with performances Thursday 7:30
pm, Friday 8pm, Saturday 3 and 8pm, and Sunday 3pm. Tickets $30,
